Is your student ready for life after high school?
The Career Exploration Planning Package is centered on career exploration. Our streamlined program will assist your student in outlining specific career goals and learning how to reach them.
The sophomore year can be a little tricky for high school students. There is less excitement about this school year, as compared to their freshman year when they were new to high school. Also, exploring and talking about post-secondary options isn't usually a focus yet. So, during the sophomore year, especially during the first semester, most sophomores have less pressure about college and/or careers than those in their junior year. However, this IS the year that families should think more about career exploration and begin the college search process. But more importantly, it's a time to start building your personal resumé. Here are some optional steps that students can take during their sophomore year:
1. TAKE THE PSAT FOR PRACTICE
2. PARTICIPATE IN EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
3. SCHEDULE CLASSES WISELY
4. START EXPLORING CAREER OPTIONS
5. GET A BASELINE ACT AND SAT SCORE
Getting a head start during the sophomore year will remove some of the stress typically associated with that academically challenging junior year.
